Wry On The Rocks

Author Sebastian Junger must have received quite a jolt this morning when he read the Boston Globe’s review of “Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman.  According to the reviewer, John Dufresne, the author of “Where Men…” ,Jon Krakauer, also wrote “The Perfect Storm” which of course was actually written by Mr. Junger.   Too bad, because Mr. Krakauer has also written several excellent page turners of his own including “Into Thin Air” and “Into The Wild” for which he was uncredited.  Reviewer Mr. Dufresne, also an author, was either too busy writing his new book (for which I will withhold any publicity in deference to Mr. Junger) or he’s breathing too much thin air himself.  Then again, one has to wonder if the Globe’s recent layoffs included the entire Sunday editor’s staff.

Donald Trump’s Atlantic City casinos have declared bankrupcy for THE THIRD TIME!  At what point does The Donald think maybe it’s just not working?  I mean how many times do you have to go bankrupt before you realize something’s wrong with the business plan?

Obama came up with a stimulus plan that would be fully funded with non-public money.  He is requiring all Cabinet members to pay their taxes!  It’s estimated to save the rest of us billions in our tax dollars.

Barney Frank was recently quoted as saying that the America public hates the bankers and that’s starting to rub off on him.  Barney actually assumes that everyone loves him and has totally forgotten that it was he who crammed high risk mortgage loans down the the bankers throats.  He may be second only to Nancy Pelosi in arrogant hypocrisy.  She of the ear marks and special deals for her husbands interests in Samoa.  What is their minimum wage level again, Nancy?
